Days of rain,

and then

sun blows in

to find the woods

waking up

and the two of us

tromping along in rain boots,

delighted by sticks

and uncurling flowers tucked

away off the path.

His one hand clutches

two yellow flowers,

dandelion and buttercup,

his other hand is

a tiny flower

in mine.
